09/28/2016 Press Release: SPECTROPHOTOMETER CM-25cG and MULTI-ANGLE SPECTROPHOTOMETER CM-M6

Konica Minolta Sensing Singapore Pte Ltd is pleased to introduce Spectrophotometer CM-25cG and Multi Angle Spectrophotometer CM-M6, specifically designed for the automotive industry. These two new instruments, developed through close collaboration with leading car manufacturers, offers new innovative features to help users resolve their color challenges in production and quality control throughout their supply chain.

Spectrophotometer CM-25cG

Over the years, automotive interiors have become an important factor influencing customer purchase decision. Automotive interiors are assembled using parts of different surface texture and to ensure uniform appearance, measurement of color and gloss are needed.

The CM-25cG, specifically designed for automotive interiors measurement, is a two-in-one spectrophotometer that measures color and gloss simultaneously. This handheld spectrophotometer, with 45°c:0° geometry and integrated 60° gloss sensor, provides time-saving and cost-effective automotive interior quality management solution.

Inter-Instrument Agreement (IIA) and Inter-Model Agreement (IMA)

With high IIA levels of ∆E*ab< 0.15 (average of BCRA 12 Tiles) and ∆GU< 0.2GU (0-10GU sample), and high IMA, the CM-25cG helps user to achieve consistent communication of measurement data throughout their supply chain.

Specialized Features For Measuring Interiors

The CM-25cG, with its circumferential illumination optical, true optical sample viewer, changeable apertures of either 8mm (MAV) and 3mm (SAV) and measuring time of less than 1 second, provides stable, precise and fast measurement even on curved surfaces.

Symmetrical and Ergonomic Design

With a symmetrical design, the CM-25cG is designed to be compact, lightweight and ergonomic. It allows user to measure hard-to-reach areas inside vehicle interior easily.

Spectrophotometer CM-M6

Metallic and pearlescent paints on automotive exteriors changes color when viewed and illuminated from different angles. To fully capture the color difference of these new pigments with large color travel, multi-angle color measurement is needed for accurate evaluation.

The CM-M6, a portable multi-angle spectrophotometer, is specifically designed for measuring vehicle exterior finishes. With directed 45° illumination and 6 viewing angles (-15°, 15°, 25°, 45°, 75°, 110°), the CM-M6 is able to provide fast and accurate measurement of metallic and pearlescent paints at 6 different angles simultaneously. It also comes with a 3.5 inch color LCD display that is easy to read under low ambient lighting conditions.

Double-Path Illumination System

Fluctuation in measurement data of curved surface can be seen when measurement is taken from one direction. The CM-M6, with its new patented double-path illumination system, measure both left and right direction and merged measurement data to provide stability.

Ergonomic Design

The CM-M6, with its compact body and vertical design, is easy to hold and position. It is ideal for on-site color inspection of automotive exterior over a long period of time.
