Konica Minolta Range 7 ushers in a new era of non-contact 3D scanning
The possibilities of non-contact 3D measurement has been opened with KONICA MINOLTA RANGE 7 3D laser scanning by adding further operability, reliability, and transportability to Konica Minolta’s reliable optical technologies and AF/AE controls.

Dark surface mode – New function added
The measurement of objects with reflectance as low as 2.5% without the use of special darkrooms or spraying of the object is enabled by the dark surface mode, which achieves the industry’s top level of low reflectance performance. Typically, ultra-low reflectance surfaces (dark objects) require being sprayed which could result in measurement inaccuracies caused by uneven thickness of the sprayed layer, but the dark mode function eliminates the need for spray. Work efficiency is drastically improved since pre-measurement surface preparation (spraying) and post-measurement surface cleaning are no longer necessary. The addition of the dark mode function also reduces environmental load since spray and cleaning liquids are not used.

Field-oriented robust design with a 1.31 million-pixel sensor with a high accuracy of ±40 μm!
By utilizing a new 1.31 megapixel CMOS sensor that detects finely detailed shapes as well as newly designed optics, the RANGE 7 achieves the highest level of guaranteed accuracy for a non-contact camera type 3D measurement instrument. According to ball bar accuracy testing based on VDI/VDE 2634 guidelines, the RANGE 7 provides an accuracy of ±40 μm.

In addition, the RANGE 7 has been designed with the concept of on-site use, minimizing the influence of temperature changes, instrument tilt, and other variables at the time of measurement to provide high reliability in factories and other actual-use environments.

Measurement conditions: 20°C±1°C ambient temperature, TELE lens, 450mm distance, other conditions according to Konica Minolta Sensing standards.

Quick two-second scanning and 3D preview function!
High-speed scanning of approximately 2 seconds per shot is enabled by original high-speed processing circuits. Thanks to the 3D preview function, the RANGE 7 allows users to predict the measurement results and check for scan area depth, scan problems due to surface conditions, dead angles and the like beforehand, which greatly reduces scanning mistakes.

Further advanced autofocus (AF) and new measurement algorithm!
The RANGE 7 provides a broad scan range by allowing interchangeability with TELE and WIDE lenses.

In addition, only Konica Minolta could provide the further enhanced AF function with the multi-focus mode that shifts focus automatically to proved high-accuracy, sharp 3D measurement data and a point AF function that adjusts the focus to a user-specified point, eliminating the concern with fine positioning of the measurement subject during scanning operations.

An expanded dynamic range is now possible, provided by the new sensor and original measurement algorithm. Even glossy objects, such as metallic surfaces, can be measured.

The compact and lightweight, all-in-one unit weighs only 6.7 kg!
With the size and weight less than half that of previous models, the RANGE 7 integrates both the camera and controller into a single body weighing approximately 6.7kg. Its compact, lightweight design provides high mobility in measurement environments. The RANGE 7 can be easily moved about when necessary by utilizing the optional stand, and makes taking measurements stress-free. (A tripod can also be used just like previous models.) Plus, user calibration can be performed while the RANGE 7 is mounted on the stand.

Comfortable scanning operation supported by newly developed RANGE VIEWER scanning software!
Included with the instrument as a standard, this software, provides various editing functions from scanning control of the instrument and data integration to registration of measured data.

Large amounts data can be handled.
