Benda hitam merupakan benda ideal yang menyerap seluruh energi dan memancarkannya sebagai energi radiasi sedemikian rupa sehingga suhunya berbanding lurus dengan warna energi radiasi yang dilepaskan. Suhu absolut benda hitam disebut suhu warna. Warna- warna ini akan terletak pada lokus benda hitam ideal, seperti yang ditunjukkan pada grafik kromatisitas xy yang ditunjukkan pada Gambar 26.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Temperatur warna yang berkorelasi digunakan untuk menerapkan gagasan umum tentang temperatur warna pada warna-warna yang dekat, namun tidak persis, pada lokus benda hitam. Suhu warna yang berkorelasi dihitung dengan menentukan garis isotemperatur di mana warna sumber cahaya diposisikan.
