DOI 100 menunjukkan pantulan citra yang sempurna dan nilainya menurun jika ada efek kulit jeruk, kabut (bekas kuas, goresan, dan debu) pada suatu permukaan.<\/p>\n<p>Kedua parameter tersebut mengukur deviasi hamburan cahaya yang dipantulkan, dengan semakin banyak cahaya yang tersebar, gambar yang dipantulkan menjadi kabur.<\/p>\n<p>DOI merupakan salah satu metode paling awal yang dikembangkan untuk mengevaluasi tekstur permukaan, seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi pelapisan, DOI menjadi kurang sensitif untuk mendeteksi kulit jeruk. Sudah mencapai tingkat dimana permukaan dengan kulit jeruk dapat memiliki DOI yang tinggi.<\/p>\n<p>RIQ memiliki resolusi lebih tinggi untuk rentang permukaan kilap rendah hingga tinggi yang lebih luas.
