SpectraMagic™ CMS (Color Matching Software)
Konica Minolta SpectraMagic™ CMS combines color formulation and production batch correction in one software platform. It uses data from compatible Konica Minolta spectrophotometers to calculate new formulations, correct off-target batches, and search existing formulation records.
The software supports complete-hiding and semi-transparent formulations. It can calculate color and opacity simultaneously while accounting for factors such as hiding power, material thickness, and substrate.
SpectraMagic™ CMS is designed for color-critical applications involving plastics, paints, coatings, inks, cosmetics, and specialty materials. It supports new color development, laboratory formulation, production batch correction, leftover material use, and formulation data management.
Improved Matching for Complex Materials
The local Delta E function helps refine challenging color matches. SpectraMagic™ CMS can include the binder’s inherent color in formulation calculations and provides additional binder calibration for applications involving different materials and substrates.
Laboratory and production samples can be added to improve future matching results. This enables calculations to incorporate measured pigment performance alongside theoretical data.
Controlled Formulation Workflows
Users can exclude restricted pigment combinations, incorporate leftover materials, and apply reusable templates to recurring formulation tasks. Formula scoring and sorting make calculated options easier to compare, while formulation history tools maintain a record of previous work.
SpectraMagic™ CMS also supports database connections for managing formulation information. Reports can be generated in PDF format, and color data can be exported in CxF format.
Connected Color Management
The software integrates with compatible Konica Minolta portable and benchtop spectrophotometers for direct measurement data transfer. It can also be used with SpectraMagic™ NX2 quality-control software to support a connected workflow across measurement, formulation, evaluation, and reporting.
