KONICA MINOLTA LAUNCHES SPECTRAMAGIC™ CMS FOR SMARTER, MORE ACCURATE COLOR FORMULATION
New solution streamlines color formulation, batch correction, and recipe management for color-critical manufacturing
Singapore, 15 October 2026
Konica Minolta Sensing Singapore is pleased to announce the regional availability of SpectraMagic™ CMS, a computer color matching software solution that helps manufacturers formulate colors, correct off-target batches, and manage recipes within one connected platform.

Designed for applications involving plastics, paints, coatings, inks, cosmetics, and specialty materials, SpectraMagic CMS uses measurement data from compatible Konica Minolta spectrophotometers to support repeatable color matching in laboratory and production environments.
Advanced Color Formulation and Batch Correction
SpectraMagic™ CMS supports opaque and translucent formulations. It can calculate color and opacity simultaneously while considering factors such as hiding power, material thickness, binder color, and substrate.
For challenging color matches, the software’s Local Delta E function provides additional calculation precision. Users can also incorporate laboratory and production samples, enabling future formulations to draw on measured pigment performance as well as theoretical data.
Key features include:
- Simultaneous calculation of color and opacity
- Flexible and adaptive software
- Inclusion of the binder’s intrinsic color in formulation
- Improve the match result by adding laboratory and production samples
- Convenient template function
- Convenient additional binder calibration
- Formulation possible on different substrates
- Reduced formulation costs
- Easily exclude restricted pigment combinations
- Database function
Connected Color Management
SpectraMagic CMS integrates with compatible Konica Minolta portable and benchtop spectrophotometers for direct measurement data transfer. It can also be used with SpectraMagic™ NX2 to support a connected workflow across color measurement, formulation, quality evaluation, and reporting.
The software is offered in Full and Standard versions. Both provide core formulation, correction, leftover material management, historical data utilization, and database functions. The Full version adds colorant definition, user management, material priority settings, and controls for undesirable material combinations.
By bringing measurement, formulation, correction, and data management together, SpectraMagic™ CMS helps manufacturers reduce trial-and-error processes, improve color consistency, and make more effective use of materials.
