Measuring the Color of 3-in-1 Coffee
The 3 in 1 coffee is a prepackaged instant coffee with non-dairy creamer and sugar added into it. Similar to instant coffee, it requires the use of hot or warm water to dissolve it into liquid form for consumption.
Because of the addition of non-dairy creamer and sugar, quantifying the color of 3 in 1 coffee mix is relatively harder than instant coffee. To eliminate such color variation, it is best to measure 3 in 1 coffee in liquid form.
To quantify color of most beverages, the use of the CIE L*a*b* colorimetric data is recommended. By using Konica Minolta Spectrophotometers, CIE L*a*b* values can be measured and used to quantify the color of 3 in 1 coffee.
