(Discontinued) CR-14 Color Reader
The handheld CR-14 Color Reader measures the whiteness of raw materials or foods in paste, solid, or powder form. The Hunter Whiteness Index or the CIE Whiteness Index—an international method for expressing whiteness—is displayed on the featured LCD screen. In the food industry, this is especially useful since color variations of white are especially obvious and can greatly influence consumer purchases.
The effect storage during transportation has on the whiteness of a product can be quantified by using this product. The CR-14 Color Reader is lightweight, fits in the palm of your hand, and is portable thanks to its battery that allows an average of 2,000 measurements per charge. The unit can also be connected to an AC adapter, if preferred.
The device is easy-to-use, low cost, and ideal for industries that need inexpensive multiple devices or are just beginning to measure whiteness. Providing those functions necessary only for whiteness measuring makes it easy for anyone to use this instrument. There are only five steps: switch the power on, select the display mode, perform white calibration, place sample on the device, and press the button. Users then only need to look at the display to see measurement results.
Powders or pastes can be measured without needing to fill a cell with the CR-14 Color Reader’s protective cap, allowing for direct measurement of those substances. If users want to print results, simply connect the device to an external printer. A vinyl case to protect the instrument against dust is available as an option.
